The Vehicle Activated Sign purchased through a Council grant has been installed on Silksworth Road near to Oakfield Court in East Herrington and will be rotated around several local areas. The sign flashes the speed of approaching vehicles and gives a warning to those travelling in excess of the 30 mph speed limit currently in force. Thanks are due to a local resident who campaigned for the sign which should reduce speeding in the vicinity of East Herrington Primary School where a traffic survey recorded a significant number of speeding vehicles.
